With a final round of two-over-par 74 at Augusta National, Mirabel Ting successfully clinched a joint eight-position finish at the Augusta National Women's Amateur.

Since becoming the first-ever Malaysian to make the cut at the prestigious event, Ting wrapped up her debut at the Augusta National Women's Amateur with a three-day tournament total of one-over-par 217, finishing nine shots behind Englishman winner Lottie Woad.

Woad signed in three birdies out of her last four holes – a finish to rival any in the long history of the Masters Tournament – and held off a surging Bailey Shoemaker on Saturday to win the fifth Augusta National Women’s Amateur.

Securing a share of eighth place together with Ting were the 2023 Women's Amateur Asia-Pacific Championship winner Eila Galitsky, 15-year-old Asterisk Talley, University of Michigan fifth-year student Hailey Borja and University of Florida senior Maisie Filler.

Mirabel Ting of Malaysia plays her shot from the 12th tee during the final round of the Augusta National Women's Amateur at Augusta National Golf Club.

After beginning 2024 with a victory in the Women's Orlando International Amateur in January, Ting, who had freshly transferred into Florida State University as a sophomore, has recorded top-seven finishes in each of her first four stroke-play starts for Florida State, including a win in the Valspar Augusta Invitational in March. She also went 2-1-0 in the Old Barnwell Derby Match Play in South Carolina on March 25-26.

Ting, who's currently ranked 16th in the world based on the World Amateur Golf Rankings, had flown the Malaysian flag high in multiple events, including bagging the Vietnam Ladies Amateur Open Championship in 2023 and clinching multiple local titles during last year's summer break which included the 13th TSM Golf Challenge and the 46th RSGC Ladies Amateur Open.

With her maiden Augusta National Women's Amateur appearance ticked off her list, Ting is looking forward to post-season with her team at Florida State University.
