Malaysian number one Gavin Green has sealed his spot in the season-ending DP World Tour Championship with a seventh place finish at the Nedbank Golf Challenge in South Africa over the weekend.
Green carded rounds of 72, 65, 75 and 70 at Gary Player Country Club in Sun City for a six-under-par total, five shots behind winner Tommy Fleetwood of England. The strong performance catapulted Green 14 spots up the DP World Tour season rankings into 28th position.
The 28-year-old now heads to Dubai for the USD10 million DP World Tour Championship, which starts on Thursday at Jumeirah Golf Estates and will feature the top 50 players from the rankings. This will be Green's second appearance in the season finale, following 2020 when he finished 52nd on the DP World Tour Rankings.
The long-hitting Malaysian has been in excellent form recently, highlighted by a runner-up finish in last month's Portugal Masters.
