Coming off a T15 finish in the LPGA Mediheal Championship, Malaysian ladies' number one Kelly Tan is using the LPGA Tour's break this week to get some important personal stuff done - first, her wedding dress, followed by her Bachelorette party!

"I'm currently in San Diego for my wedding dress fitting, then I’m heading to Las Vegas for my Bachelorette with a few girlfriends. It's going to be a fun week!" shared Tan, who ties the knot with long-time beau Dustin Lattery this December.

Tan's impressive performance in the Mediheal event at The Saticoy Club in California saw her birdie five of the last six holes of her second round to make the halfway cut by three shots. The 28-year-old followed up with weekend rounds of 71 and 66 to chalk up her fifth top-20 of what has been a rather topsy turvy season.

Prior to the Mediheal event, Tan had missed the cut in five out of six events. In July, she chalked up the best finish of her LPGA career with a second place performance partnering Finland's Matilda Castren in the team-format Dow Great Lakes Bay Invitational

"I actually made a putting grip switch on the fifth hole of my second round at the Mediheal, and I’ve been minus 14 since! I went left hand low and it just felt so comfortable. I’ve also worked really hard this past month on my putting, so it's really great to see the putts finally dropping," said Tan.

Currently in 61st spot on the LPGA Tour's season-long Race To CME Globe, Tan is just one shy of making it into the USD7 million CME Group Tour Championship with three events to go. She has played the season-ender once before in nine years on the LPGA Tour, in 2020 when she finished a career-high 37th in the Race to CME Globe.

"Getting into the CME Group Tour Championship is one of my goals this year and I’m in a good spot. I'm looking forward to a good two weeks in Asia to secure my place," said Tan.

Tan leaves for Korea this Saturday to play in the BMW Ladies Championship (October 20-23) at Oak Valley Country Club in Wonju, and then heads to Japan for the Toto Championship at Seta Golf Course in Shiga. Both are USD2 million events with limited fields and no cuts.

"I’m so looking forward to it! It’s always been a goal of mine to play closer to home, especially with the tournaments being so prestigious and the highly-ranked field. Good to see that I’ve played my way into them," Tan enthused.

The penultimate event of the 2022 LPGA Tour is the USD2 million Pelican Women's Championship in Belleair, Florida on November 10-13. The CME Group Tour Championship takes place the following week (November 17-20) at Tiburón Golf Club in Naples, Florida.

And, of course, Tan has the 'small' matter of a wedding to attend to. "It’s been great. I'm getting some help from my friends and I think I’ve got most of the vendors in line ... hopefully I’m not missing out on anything too important!"
