Malaysia's Gavin Green signed in a final round of six-under-par 64 to claim a solid tied seventh finish in the Joburg Open held at Johannesburg, South Africa from November 23 to 26.

Local South African Dean Burmester carded a four-day aggregate of 18-under-par at the par-70 course in Houghton Golf Club to secure a three-shot victory over compatriot Darren Fichardt on home soil.

Despite opening his campaign at the season-opening DP World Tour event with an even-par round of 70, Green built up the momentum throughout the week with rounds of 69 and 67. The 29-year-old notched up seven birdies against one lone bogey in his final round to finish on 10-under-par for the week alongside opening-round leader Thirston Lawrence.

Green's performance in Johannesburg puts the Malaysian No.1 in 8th spot on the 2024 DP World Tour rankings. His next start will be at the Investec South African Open Championship from November 30 to December 3.
