Malaysian No. 1 Gavin Green impressed with a T8 finish at this week's Omega European Masters held in Switzerland which concluded on Sunday.
Riding off his recent Toyota Tour Corolla Cross victory back in August, Green opened his campaign with a seven-under-par 63 and found himself in a six-way tie at the top after round one. Following rounds of 69 and 68 at Crans-sur-Sierre Golf Club, the Malaysian was five shots behind overnight leader Matt Fitzpatrick heading into the final day.
Despite a bogey on the par-4 second, Green quickly picked up the pace with birdies on the 4th, 7th and 8th. After dropping another shot on the 11th, the 29-year-old recorded three straight birdies on the 14th, 15th and 16th, to finish with a four-under-par 66 for the day.
Green's 14-under-par 266 total earned him a share of eight position, five shots behind winner Ludvig Aberg of England.
This week's performance pushes Green up six spots on the Race To Dubai Rankings, putting him in 72nd place. The Malaysian's best finish so far in the season rankings was 31st position in 2022.

Former World Amateur Number One Ludvig Aberg claimed a maiden victory in only his second DP World Tour event as a professional courtesy of a stunning finish at the Omega European Masters.
Closing with a 64 in the final round and denying Matt Fitzpatrick a hat-trick of titles in the Swiss mountains, Sweden's Aberg birdied four of his last five holes to finish on 19-under-par 261 for the week, two ahead of compatriot Alexander Björk, with long-time leader Fitzpatrick eventually finishing in a tie for third with Scotland's Connor Syme after a bogey at the 18th.
“I don't even know where to start, it's a pretty surreal feeling, to be honest,” Aberg said.
“Obviously super, super happy. I've always had that belief that I've been able to do it, but to do it is pretty cool," shared the Swede.
“To be able to put together four rounds here in the mountains, where it’s so beautiful, it’s a dream come true. It’s a testament that I’m doing good stuff. Winning any tournament is a lot of fun, to do it this quickly (as a professional), I’m over the moon," he added.
