With a fiery 66 on the final round of the Twin Bridges Championship at Guideland, New York, Malaysia’s Natasha Oon secured her fourth runner-up finish on the Epson Tour after narrowly edged out by Jenny Bae in a five-hole playoff.

Starting the day with two bogeys in her first four holes, Oon began to put the pressure on Bae later in her round by rattling up a total of seven birdies over the next 14 holes. Sinking a clutch birdie putt on the 18th to close her round in dramatic fashion, the Malaysian managed to claim a spot in the playoff against Bae.

“I learned a lot from her, and I learned a lot from this experience,” said Oon.

“I am just really grateful to be in this position and I am hopeful I will be able to pull through one day. I wasn’t even thinking about winning coming into today and then I just started to make birdies and things just started going my way. I am just grateful,” she added.

Compatriots Ashley Lau carded a three-over-par 216 to finish in T31, while Alyaa Abdulghany failed to make the halfway cut.

Jenny Bae became the first back-to-back winner this season following her triumph against Oon and claiming the Twin Bridges Championship. Persevering throughout the final 18 holes despite battling fatigue, Bae pushed through to pick up her second Epson Tour victory in her last two starts.

“My 18 holes for the final round were a bit of a struggle,” said Bae.

“I wasn’t able to save as much as I usually do but something clicked in the middle of the playoff and suddenly had this bad desire to win. I am so glad everything worked out the way it did," she added.

Gabriella Ruffels rounded up the top three at the Twin Bridges Championship, falling one stroke of joining the playoff on five-under par 208.

Rounding out the top five on the leaderboard is Roberta Liti, who finished fourth at four-under-par 209 as well as Robyn Choi and Minji Kang, who finished in a tie for fifth at three-under-par 210.
