Malaysian number one Gavin Green stormed up the leaderboard after a superb five-under-par 67 during round two of the Jonsson Workwear Open at The Club at Steyn City, South Africa to sit at joint fourth position.

Having opened his campaign with a six-under-par 66, Green lies on 11-under-par, two shots behind leader Nick Bachem (65) and one adrift of Romain Langasque and Sami Välimäki who are in joint second. 

Green, who started on the 10th, raked up two birdies on the 11th and 16th to card in a two-under 34 on the first nine.

Riding the momentum, the 29-year-old continued to collect three more birdies on the 1st, 3rd and 4th before dropping a shot on the par-four 7th. Green closed the back nine with another birdie on the 9th.

Chasing his maiden DP World Tour (European Tour) victory, Green came close to clinching a title in two separate tournaments in 2022, namely the D+D Real Czech Masters and Portugal Masters.
