Malaysia's Natasha Andrea Oon and Ashley Lau have been named Players of the Year for their respective conferences on the US collegiate golf circuit. 

San Jose State senior Oon was recently named the Mountain West Player of the Year for the second time in three years, following University of Michigan senior Lau's success the previous week in picking up the Big Ten Golfer of the Year honour.

Oon leads the Mountain West in stroke average with 71.81. The San Jose State women's team, known as the Spartans, also picked up the Freshman of the Year award through Lucia Lopez Ortega and Coach of the Year via head coach Dana Dormann.

Lau is the first golfer from her team, dubbed the Wolverines, to receive the Big Ten Golfer of the Year award, and is also the first Wolverine to lead the conference in scoring average with 71.70. Head coach Jan Dowling meanwhile earned Big Ten Coach of the Year honors.  

Oon is currenty ranked 10th on the Women's Amateur Golf Ranking while Lau is in 40th spot. Both players will feature in the International Team for the 2022 Arnold Palmer Cup, a mixed-gender Ryder Cup-style match at Golf Club de Genève in Switzerland this July 1-3.
