Following the Peninsular Qualifying Series of the 100PLUS SRIXON Junior Championship which concluded yesterday, 16 promising juniors have booked their tickets to the upcoming regional showdown slated from July 29 to August 1, 2024.

The top four participants of every category will receive a spot in the 100PLUS SRIXON Junior Championship that will be held in Kota Permai Golf & Country Club later in the year.

Aiden Tai claimed victory in the Boys A category (Under 17) after carding scores of 72,71 and 77 and finishing on four-over-par 220. One shot behind Tai was Ammer Aiman Mohd Fauzi on five-over-par 221 (74-74-73) while rounding up the top three on nine-over-par 227 (77-74-74) was Ezekiel Riz Hafi Suzearitz.

In the Girl's A (Under 17) category, Ngo Yi Belle signed scores of 77, 81, and 76 to win nine shots ahead of Tan Ying Ying (82-80-80). Four shots adrift in third place was Nik Alicia Miriam Kamil Nik Fairuz Kamil (81-84-81).

The Boy's B (Under 13) category saw a dramatic finish, as Bae Jin Hyuk (75-81-77) and Jarvis Liew (79-76-78) were tied on 17-over-par 233 and triggered a sudden-death match. After an amazing shot that left him three feet to the hole, Bae tapped in a birdie on the first extra hole to win first place over Liew. Securing the third spot was Han JaeHo on 23-over-par 239 (78-84-77).

While in the Girls B (Under 13) category, Jane Sim (77-85-86) narrowly won first place on 32-over-par 248 with a one-shot victory over Lee Ji Yeon (88-83-78). Rounding up the top three was Mavis Chua who finished on 43-over-par 259 (87-86-86)

With the Peninsular qualifying series in the books, the focus shifts to the East Malaysian Qualifying event set against the scenic Miri Golf Club in Miri, Sarawak, from June 10-13, 2024.
