Gavin Green has finished a career-high 31st on the DP World Tour rankings following a T20 performance in the season-ending DP World Tour Championship at Jumeirah Golf Estates in Dubai.

The Malaysian number one carded rounds of 70, 73, 68 and 73 at Jumeirah's Earth Course for a four-under-par total in the USD10 million event, reserved for the tour's top 50 available players. Spanish star Jon Rahm won with a 20-under-par total.

Green earned €86,336 to take his season earnings on the DP World Tour to €902,087. The 28-year-old's previous best finish in the season rankings was 52nd in 2020.

In an eventful season that started poorly, Green raked up four top-10s including two runner-up finishes in the D+D Real Czech Masters in August and last month's Portugal Masters

"It’s been a great season! From where I was last year, lost and having no idea what was going on with the game, I managed to dig myself out of that hole with the help of my team, friends, family, coach and caddy. They really stood by me," shared Green, who played his way into the DP World Tour Championship with a seventh place finish in the previous week's Nedbank Golf Challenge in South Africa.

"My main goal was just to keep my card, then obviously things changed with Nedbank and Dubai, ao I can’t complain at all. My team and I worked really hard to bring me back to where I am now," he added.

Green is looking forward to some well-deserved time off before resuming his DP World Tour campaign at the Abu Dhabi Championhip next January.

"My goal still remains the same, which is to win. I'll be making some changes to my routines and that's something that I want to work on this off-season," he noted.

"For now, I’m going to shut down for a bit and enjoy some time off. Then I'm going hit the gym hard and get stronger."
