Three Malaysians finished in the top five of The MENA Tour’s Malaysian Swing II, which concluded today at The Els Club Desaru, Johor.

2022 SEA Games medallist Ervin Chang who started the final round seven shots behind England’s William Harold, recorded five birdies against one bogey to close the tournament with a solid four-under par 68. Chang’s eight-under par 208 total catapulted him up to a solo second finish, two shots behind Harold and claiming bragging rights as the best-placed Malaysian for the week.

Last week’s Malaysian Swing I runner-up, Paul San, recorded rounds of 73, 70 and 66 to fall one short of Chang in third place on seven-under par 209. San’s impressive 66 on the final day consisted of seven birdies and one lone bogey.

Galven Kendall Green, who opened his campaign with a five-under par 67, pulled through the next two days with scores of 75 and 68 to finish in fourth position on six-under par 210.

Harold, who kick-started with an opening round of eight-under par 64, followed up with consistent rounds of 69 and 73 to claim a wire-to-wire victory at this week’s Malaysian Swing II tournament.

The Englishman was excited to return to the winner’s circle after his last appearance on the tour in 2020, saying, “It’s great to get that winning feeling back. I wasn’t sure I’d get it done, but I just kept my focus on hitting fairways and greens to grind out a score.”

The MENA Tour moves on to Hua Hin in Thailand for the The Royal Hua Hin Thailand Championship which will take place from 25 -27 April.
