The Malaysian Golf Association (MGA) held its annual general meeting (AGM) on December 17 at Palm Resort Golf & Country Club in Johor, in tandem with the 118th Malaysian Amateur Open.

Over 100 delegates attended the AGM, during which the elections for all executive committee and state representative posts were conducted after a two-year hiatus due to the Covid-19 lockdowns.

Incumbent president Admiral (R) Tan Sri Mohd Anwar Mohd Nor was unopposed and will continue to lead the association for the 2022-2024 term.  

The two incumbent vice presidents,Teoh Piek Kee and Tan Sri Aseh Che Mat, retained their posts against Datuk Manibalan Kutty and Chien Chai Ung respetively. Dato’ Zulkifli Ismail kept the honorary secretary post against Dato’ Paduka Feizal Nor, while the honorary treasurer’s post was won by Chow Chee Keong against David Thong Young Fook. Incumbent treasurer Andrew Bryan Perera did not stand for re-election.  

The post for Pahang state representative was won by incumbent Dato’ Jaafar Abdullah against Dato’ Sri Haji Shafik Fauzan, while the Penang representative post was won by incumbent Dato’ Ong Poh Eng against Dato’ Phen Say Beh.
