Ervin Chang and Liyana Durisic triumph in PGM Royal Pekan Closed Championship

Ervin Chang clinched the men’s title at the PGM Royal Pekan Closed Championship 2025, edging Amir Nazrin in a playoff at Royal Pekan Golf Club.
Chang carded a low round of six-under-par 66 to tie with overnight leader Amir Nazrin on a three-day aggregate of 13-under-par, forcing a sudden-death match. The freshly turned 27-year-old sealed the win on the second extra hole with a clutch birdie putt on Thursday, leaving Amir to finish in second place.
“It feels great to get the win,” said Chang.
“I’ll rest up before heading to Kuantan for the PGM Royal Pahang Closed Championship next week," he added.
Third place saw Ben Leong and Edvin Ying tied for third at 12-under-par, with Leong climbing up four spots on the leaderboard after posting the lowest round of the day at seven-under-par. Opening round leader Daeng Rahman finished solo fifth at nine-under-par.
After missing the last two events, Liyana Durisic returned in style with a win in the Ladies Championship. The 23-year-old found momentum early, firing back-to-back birdies on the opening holes to catch up with overnight leader Winnie Ng. Liyana pulled ahead and closed the tournament with a total of six-under-par to take the title.
Ng struggled down the stretch and settled for second place at even par, while Geraldine Wong finished third, one stroke behind.
“This win means a lot after missing the last two events,” said Liyana.
“I’m heading back to prepare for next week’s event in Kuantan. This definitely gives me a boost heading into the ASEAN LPGA Qualifier in August.”
The PGM Royal Pekan Closed Championship 2025, hosted by Royal Pekan Golf Club (Par 72), featured a total purse of RM180,000 for the men’s division and RM30,000 for the Ladies Championship. Chang earned RM31,500 for his victory, while Liyana took home RM10,000.
